As time went by, mankind spread all over the world. They spent their evil lives forgetting God and tormenting the weak. God saw how wicked human beings on the earth were, and regretted having created human beings. Then, there lived a loyal man called Noah who faithfully served God. One day, God said to Noah,

"I have decided to destroy all living evil lives, by causing the flood to ravage the earth. Build a very big and strong boat for yourself out of good timber."

"Yes, Lord, I'll do as you told me to do."

Noah showed an obedient attitude to the Lord, and began to build a boat, as God had commanded. Then, people treated him with jeers and scorns, because they cannot understand about why he was doing so.

Long hours passed before a strong boat was finally completed. Noah has all the eight family, his wife, three sons, and three daughter in-laws, including Noah himself. God told his family to go into the boat, with a male and female of every each kind of animal, domestic and wild, large and small, and every kind of bird. Noah took all kinds of food for himself, his family, and all animals. All kinds of living creatures went into the boat with Noah, as God had commanded. Then, the Lord shut the door behind the Noah. But, it was not raining as yet. People mocked at Noah and his family, "They get crazy."

      "Drip. Drip..."

Rain began to fall from the sky. As there were gradually violent rainstorms, people were seized with fear. Then, they reminded themselves of what Noah said to them. As water was gradually falling on the earth, people began to cry and scream, aggressively knocking the boat door, "Please open the boat." Yet, the door that God had shut did not open.

The flood continued for forty days, and water did not start going down for 150 days. Every kind of living being, domestic and wild, large and small, sank in water and was destroyed. The rain stopped and water went down. Then, the boat rested on a mountain. Noah opened a window and sent out a raven. It came back. But, a dove did not come back. Noah came to know that water was completely going down.

Noah removed the covering of the boat to send out all kinds of birds. Large animals were sent out, in turn, following small and fast animals. Every kind of animal that was sent out of the boat flew in flock to the forest, with joy. Noah's family also went out of the boat and took a fresh air, with joy.

The sun shined bright in the blue sky, and white clouds floated. Noah dedicated a faithful animal as a sacrifice to the Lord God, as a token of thanks for the Lord. Then, God put the beautiful rainbow in the clouds. This rainbow was the 'sign of God's covenant,' namely, his promise to Noah and all the animals that a flood will never again destroy all living beings. And, God blessed Noah and his sons, and said, "Have many children, so that your descendents will live all over the earth."
