Fly, Crested Grebe !

This is an environmental picture book using as a motif Taean Oil Spill Incident that took place in Korea in 2007. Through investigations and interviews of six years since then, this book came out of in the world in 2014, and is my first picture book.

Let me introduce the picture book painted by me, Writer Soo-ye Park, the manager of this Website of Bible Stories for Children. 

This book does not cover the story, completely focusing on the messages of Christianity. However, it reminds us of what we ought to do, in the beautiful world which God created. So, I'd like to introduce this book to everyone, by all means. 

I waited long for this book to come out of in the world, seeking God's will, with patience. While doing so, I grew up much. This book covers the story about a crested grebe that spent a happy time, under the care from his family and friends, but was left neglected alone in the sea filled with oil, without expectation. This story brought me to a heartache. Then, I thought that a tragic event could happen again, if someone does not do anything given to him or her. Such a thought led me not to give up publishing this book. 

This book came out of in the world, when the whole nation sank into grief owing to the Sewolho Incident. So, I was more heartbroken. Just as this book proofreader and veterinarian Shin-hwan Kim said, the world is the place where everyone ought to live together, and we must make efforts to make such a world.
